After the whole day work when we get back to home, our feet are get dirtier and sweatier than other parts of the body. So it is important to wash them properly and make feet washing a part of your nightly routine when you get home.
Wash your feet with warm water and soap and pay extra attention to the s[paces in between the toes and wipe your feet gently with a towel. Keep your toenails clean as well while washing your feet and take the time to clean them.
Soak your feet in warm soapy water for approximately 10 minutes, it helps to loose dirt and makes it easier to clean them thoroughly. After 10 minutes, gently remove calluses with a pumice stone or loofah and use an exfoliating scrub or nail brush to clean your toenails.
After finishing scrubbing and exfoliating your toenails and feet, dip them back in the plain water and rinse them thoroughly.
If you have any stains on your toenails then remove the stains properly before dry your feet, by using these methods. Take hydrogen peroxide and mix it with three parts of water, soak your feet in this mixture for 10 minutes and then rinse with plain water. Dab a few drops of lemon juice on each stained nail, let stir it for a few minutes and then brush it off with a washcloth.
Dry your feet and toenails completely with a clean dry towel and then let them air dry for a few minutes before putting on socks or shoes and if you wear the socks or shoes in damp feet it can encourage the growth of fungus.
After drying your feet, moisturize them with a good moisturizer or foot cream and make sure to apply some moisturizer to your toenails and cuticles as well.
Trim your nails straight across rather than in a curved pattern because curved pattern allows the recessed edges to grow into the skin while straight trimming helps prevent ingrown toenails, allowing the straight edge of each nail to advance as one unit.
